headed north today to one of our favourite beaches , arambol. as we went into arambol made a pit stop at arambol bakery , love this guy and his fresh baked goods ie 40R apple turnover , 10R veg pastry etc . its a tiny unsigned place easy to miss unless someone points it out . so here it is !
as in other resorts outside the main strip of c-c-b belt a lot of the shacks have started to close , its mid april and there are less and less tourists by the day . early closing elections are killing what fun remained . fridges freezers all being taken away , sunbeds and covers too . shacks being dismantled . its kinda nice tho not being as busy and your custom feels really valued at times . the beach was so quiet .
the lucky buddha shack had closed who did excellent strawberry daq’s so hung out at the Buddha village instead, dirt cheap 50 beer was nice . had food drinks and watched the sunset . bliss
this evening went to one of our favourites ciao bella in chapora . had some bruschetta and a couple of pastas – 1 veggie and 1 amatriciana off the specials … outstanding as usual .
streets are dead all over north of CCB due to elections , and at night post 10pm goa becomes a ghost town , there is little evening entertainment to speak of , it isnt just drink that stops flowing as i imagined , everywhere actually closes full stop and you cant even drink in the day officially . lights out back to your room for drinks and music it is . or else you have to find blacked out places with people huddled around candles and drinking out of tea pots playing with the with cats . all hush hush nudge wink .
Is that the dreaded Fusion in the last pic? Has it improved at all or do you still take your life in your hands when you eat there?
well spotted mate …. after last time its late night drinks only 😉 the older asian guy there is a really great bloke too .
