goa 04/14 D27: stitched up @ indian post office, goan snow, jack fruits, kalinga candolim

started the day off sending some stuff home at the post office .

its a bizarre concept , the 1 man operation take things off you and a stitches them into bags out of sheets of material he cuts buy hand . its one of the most bizarre things ive seen out here [of which there are many] . to say posting things in india is slow would be a compliment . it probably took over 1 hour and there was only 1 bloke before me being served .

the post office in general is an experience – half the stock is kept on the floor of the shop part , while in the actual post office the floor is covered in rubbish and empty boxes and months of old newspapers . what an unorganised bin ! i think they where expecting a rush on soap and nappies as they had several hundred of each !

lots of places advertising parties – in pre curfew times when there was actually parties . and nitelife!

there where trees that gave what locals told us was known as ‘goan snow’ and it was everywhere lining the grounds . goan snow , hahahaha amazing !

tonight we went over to candolim to try out ‘kalinga’ .

asked for booze and it was flatly refused . remind me not to come when elections are on again lol . every day is dry day ….

incase you where wondering YES , the posted items did make it home after we arrived back in england . we didnt expect them to i will be honest πŸ˜‰
