round this headland you can walk to the sweet lake beach , mudbaths , banyan tree , paragliders etc . search ‘sweet lake’ on this blogs search box for details of all that .

had some beers n snacks like falafel and pakora at full moon shack and by coincidence its where youll find the evening bohemian entertainment that starts about an hour prior to sunset .

there are literally dozens of shacks to hang out at , a lot with simple 300rps upwards bamboo huts on the beach . average price is about 500rps per night . just turn up

so just before sunset people kind of get together to see the sunset , and the drummers form a circle and do their thing . people spontaneously gather in the circle and start dancing as the sun begins to set . it all adds to a magical feeling . throw in a couple of flutes , a horn , some shakers made of water bottles and its a full on percussive jam with THAT backdrop !

MUST WATCH VIDEO THAT HOPEFULLY CATCHES THE VIBE πŸ˜‰

shopping is great in arambol too , so cheap from all the shops lining both sides of the northern end of the main road right down to the northern beach entrance . you can buy most things you want here .

the worlds smallest corner shop lol

after having a good shop we wanted food , so for we had read there was a good italian here called “Fellini’s” . wasnt a place you would really end up unless someone had told you to go , so went upstairs and ordered a couple of pastas . bland and boring would be the overall feeling , i wouldnt recommend at all , ive seen better crap ready meals in asda for Β£1 .

a carefull drive back to vagator/anjuna in the dark after arambol to get cleaned and changed , and off out . we passed siolim church which was all lit up like disneyland ,

P1030514

then we opted for anjuna beach to see what was happening and there was a big party night at curlies , but they wanted 1000 per couple . i dont like the place that much and the music is always too trancey , so we did shore bar instead and had excellent cocktails as usual with good house music and enjoyed the fireworks display from curlies

Sounds great! πŸ™‚ Just wanted to be sure, about the antimalaria meds, are you taking anything?Because Malaron is pretty expensive..

  2. paleozapiskyMartin says:

Damn 1000 per couple.. All clubs are like that? Going to Goa in 23 days! Can’t wait

    • tharobster says:

no not usually , but odd times . curlies does at xmas week each nite . and cubana always does but then gives free drinks for 1000 per couple . hilltop asked 200 each . 9bar 200 . uv bar was 500 one time . teso concert was 750 when prem joshua was on but that was a full band gig , and when they hosted the heineken jrank festival it was 1000 each nite . lilleput is mostly free . curlies free on non party nights . bubble brunch is 500 for all nite club . shore bar free . marbella beach was free each time but i heard xmas wek they charged for main parties . terrace chronicle and waters free but drinks are double . keep checking whats up goa a few days before as best club events always listed there each day , price will depend on what kind of event they have but most places would be free on normal nites or a few hundred if they had a major party on . unless it was nye/xmas . bardo dont know what they charged each night couldnt get a nite to go as it kept clashing with things sadly cos love that place .

      • Martin says:

Great info thanks! We love psytrance, do they play this kind of music regularly? Also any open air parties? Other question is, do you take antimalari? If so what exactly? Thanks! πŸ™‚

      • tharobster says:

yeh its psy overload , see the clubs i mentioned . also look out for posters around anjuna vagator and chapora town centre too has lots pinned up . its mostly around those areas , plus west end club too about 15 minutes from that area . you can have 145bpm hard trance every night till dawn ! uv curlies kolbasa hill top 9bar west end primrose , most places are forced inside after the indian 10pm law . always check the daily whatsupgoa calendar …. youre gonna love this place πŸ˜‰

as for malaria stuff , thats a q for your doctor but he will say yes . some people do some dont . we dont . risk is very very slim in dry season . if you dont get bit you wont get it ful lstop , so dont get bit . always have DEET based spray from 4pm onwards . re apply if out all night . i got 2 bites in 1 month so i had more chance of winning the lottery that getting malaria , its not africa where it is bad . you can buy anti malaria stuff cheaper in goa but some you need to start before you leave and keep taking upon getting home . some have bad side effects . read trip advisor threads on it for more opinion . i prefer to not get bit . others wouldnt leave home without it . but its your call .
