today we went to hang out at arambol for the day , each time we go to this place it is just so cool . its a nice wide clean beach with lots of space .
round this headland you can walk to the sweet lake beach , mudbaths , banyan tree , paragliders etc . search ‘sweet lake’ on this blogs search box for details of all that .
had some beers n snacks like falafel and pakora at full moon shack and by coincidence its where youll find the evening bohemian entertainment that starts about an hour prior to sunset .
such a great beach , all the right kind of type of people and cows , a great cosmopolitan mix of nationalities and ages with one common factor … having the right attitude .
there are literally dozens of shacks to hang out at , a lot with simple 300rps upwards bamboo huts on the beach . average price is about 500rps per night . just turn up
so just before sunset people kind of get together to see the sunset , and the drummers form a circle and do their thing . people spontaneously gather in the circle and start dancing as the sun begins to set . it all adds to a magical feeling . throw in a couple of flutes , a horn , some shakers made of water bottles and its a full on percussive jam with THAT backdrop !
alongside the drummers an impromptu flea market gathers , people selling things like bracelets , hippie wares , crafts , tea and soup , musical things …
HERES A COOL VIDEO I MADE
ITS THE SUNSET AND DRUMMERS AND THE PEOPLE WHO ARE THERE AS IT HAPPENED
MUST WATCH VIDEO THAT HOPEFULLY CATCHES THE VIBE 😉
shopping is great in arambol too , so cheap from all the shops lining both sides of the northern end of the main road right down to the northern beach entrance . you can buy most things you want here .
the worlds smallest corner shop lol
after having a good shop we wanted food , so for we had read there was a good italian here called “Fellini’s” . wasnt a place you would really end up unless someone had told you to go , so went upstairs and ordered a couple of pastas . bland and boring would be the overall feeling , i wouldnt recommend at all , ive seen better crap ready meals in asda for £1 .
a carefull drive back to vagator/anjuna in the dark after arambol to get cleaned and changed , and off out . we passed siolim church which was all lit up like disneyland ,
then we opted for anjuna beach to see what was happening and there was a big party night at curlies , but they wanted 1000 per couple . i dont like the place that much and the music is always too trancey , so we did shore bar instead and had excellent cocktails as usual with good house music and enjoyed the fireworks display from curlies
