what is it with this cloudy weather . weve been unlucky a couple of days now . plus the big storm . wasnt really sunbathing weather so we walked a long length of the beach today , probs about a 4-5kl round trip from margherita to just after coqui coqui . got a good look at a lot of the beach clubs . most where relatively quiet compared to north [ruins] end of the beach . here are a look at some of the beach fronts to various hotels/beach clubs . there are no timeshares or beach sellers or motorised watersports .
in sequence on map :
ana y jose area / margherita area
co co coco
villa shanti / soul surfers school
la luna / las estrellas restaurant
nails nair and massage outside zulum , pretty much the only beach sellers . nice women
another ana y jose property
los corales restaurante and bar
super food juice bar and el hongo restaurante
ahau tulum surf school
what looked like organised day trippers [ akin beach poss?]
zulum bar and hotel – on the way back stopped off at zulum for drinks . had permanent 2-4-1 drinks signs outside , and had lots more options inside too also 2-4-1 . cocktails where made decent aswell . bar staff where cool . decent place to go to on the beach this for a drink .
went to matteos for late lunch and did the opposite of yesterday , she has veggie burrito and i had a beef burger this time . both really enjoyed our lunches again . prices about 100 – 120 for a lot of snacks . busiest place around always a buzz in here . the guy who runs the place couldnt be any more accomodating with our football [soccer] requests !
tonight we went to la zebra with jamie gittins dj’ing 70’s funk and disco party jams , as happens every wednesday – the night is called “jungle boogie” but it is only 8-11pm unlike jamies main night on fridays which is a lot later . was extra special cos tonight was full moon night too . what a setting , a huge wooden circular dancefloor on the beach overlooking the sea illuminated with the full moon . awesome . the party was not as cool or busy as his mezzanine night on friday [by far the best night in tulum by a million miles] , but it was worth going for , its was free admission and about 100 people there . at least its something to do – even if it might not be the craziest night in town you at least get 3 hours of pretty decent music and dj for free . jamie played some great party rockin 70’s funk and disco bombs too . and how neat are the tables in this place ?!!
