moonstar anjuna for breakfast then went to ozran beach , wanted to stay locally today as i clocked up too many bike miles yesterday into mahashtara ! theres lots of indian tourists acting wild in anjuna and surrounding areas due to holidays , and good on them – young and enjoying themselves drinking kingfisher cans . just been reading up about the about ‘perimiter fence fortress’ proposal aruond the state of goa to stop neighbouring states penniless tourists arriving by the truckload . they plan to stop them as they bring in no money , they take their own food to the beaches and even their own gas cylinders into goa to cook with and give zero to goa .
‘our shack’ , ozran beach
later on for the sunset i went to vagator hill . i guessed as chapora was cool for views and vagator must be ok too . each day you can find something different to do like this in goa . you could see miles of coastline
great views south down as far as anjuna beach
and beyond the headland would be baga – the watersports where looking popular
and in the opposite direction way up north past ozran vagator , over the chapora to morjim and ashvem etc
you could see the adjacent chapora hill with the fort clearly on the top where i was in previous days [see blog] .
on the top of the hill was a white cross .
while on the hill top i noticed a hidden ‘secret building’ on the hill near hill top club . interesting , you could hardly see any sign of it in any direction
i went up on the track which is right next to the IBW site currently being constructed for the past week . at the top is a hidden abandoned hotel , similar in lots of ways to ‘sima hotel’ on the end of agonda beach [see earlier blog] , its just not as big as sima . however youll find lots of similar things . you enter via a large staircase
there are lots of levels in this abandoned hotel ,
obvious pitfalls and dangers
contains graffiti ,
theres holes everywhere ,
stairs to nowhere,
piles of bricks
great views of IBW , hill top trance club , chapora fort etc
its deserted and hiden away in vagator . i mean ive honestly been past this hill hundreds of times and you just cannot see it at all . i asked a local about it later and was told someone tried to build it without permission and the gvt claimed the land back . one thing different to agonda tho is it contains bats living in the basement ,whereas they live that the opposite end of the bay in agondas trees . i knew they where bats as it was the exact same sound in agonda . a lot of the walls near basement entrance had bat shit all over them which was a giveaway they lived there . you can go so far down but then it was pitch black in the basement and i could hear them making that creepy laughing sound , it was unmistakeable … and again like agonda without a torch there was no way i was going in the basement if i didnt get a bat bite id probably fall down a hole !! how many of these places exist in goa !?
youll need to turn up sound coming from basement mu ha ha ha haaaa , bats and
the new site i mentioned called ‘IBW’ features construction all week for this event , its the big indian bike festival happening in vagator/anjuna . they estiamte 8000 will turn up with big bikes galore . its a massive site with various stages and several marquee tents and will be open soon .
afterwards i went to ‘teso’ in siolim for drinks . cool place .
again like a lot of places round here they seem to be hidden away and pass them time after time on a moped and just not notice them . i thought this was a hotel , but it turns out to be a totally cool place aswell as a hotel . its a lounge / club and restaurant too . nice lighting in the cabanas ,
palm trees ,
illuminated plant pots 4ft high [want!!!]
awesome setting – especially sunsets as the sun drops in the mouth of the river , perfection ! has cool electronic music like deep house and tech house stuff . drinks are double bar prices at 100 beer 500 cocktails , but the cocktails are really good like daquiri’s and margaritas – all made with fresh squeezed fruits and proper branded spirits. very stylish place . one of the hippest places ive been to along with bardo in morjim .
