goa trip – day 25 – arambol , bardo club in ashvem goa’s best underground club

headed northbound from anjuna today and went to arambol beach . did a bit of shopping there , it has loads of good really small shops near beach . its cheap here too being a hippy backpackery type place . got a great hand embroidered giant ladies shoulder bag . the detailing was superb , not seen them this giant size anywhere else before with all sorts fo sequins and jewels . bargained down from 2200 to 800 . he said he made them there , but im not sure if I believed that ! later we hung out on the beach which had a good mixture of nationalities .

the main reason we headed north was we checked out ‘bardo’ in ashvem [next to morjim]

a brand new proper ibiza style white contemporary dance day and nite club , totally different to anything ive found in north or south goa .

talk about pure money it cost to do this place , wowee ! think something from a vegas contemporary pool party , or maybe ushia in Ibiza [but not quite as big] .

it was nice to be here when it is so new , and just about to open its doors for the event started today

its expensive – youll go here for dj’s , 4pm opens to 4am closing , massive amounts of bass and the best sound system ive heard in goa by a million miles . and considering it was in the open it was impressive . top end on fly wires , bass cabs accross the front of the stage on floor . loads of em !

it was opening week of this place , and there was a dance music festival called ‘krank’ on . some top electronic music dj’s playing proper tech house and underground club stuff . there was no guetta or pop music don’t worry !!! take cash … its 200 for a small heineken beer [they sponsored the venue] . you have to buy books of drink tokens at 1000 a time so you cant have 1 beer . it has hundreds of pieces of this white rattan furniture comprising of large cabanas , egg pods , L shape couches , daybeds , loungers and chairs all with grey cushions … and it all fronts the beach on an enormous gorgeous site .

when they have a big party on its outside , other times its inside on regular nites . at big events the dj plays in the sunset on a stage on a fly wired sound system sandwiched between the ocean on one side , and a big jacuzzi and a pool to party in with submerged dance platforms in the pool on the opposite side !

the whole of the complex is decking everywhere with attention to detail . expensive and class in this place .

as day turns to nite the whole place is properly illuminated , incl pool etc

they do nice food and cocktails with all the trimmings . all the waiters wear cool uniforms , there are so many to attend your every need , and service is really professional . it was 1000 a day entrance with the festival on – but there would not usually be a charge for normal nites . worth checking if you like designer clubbing and electronic music – no , infact make it essential .

you could go in / out all nite once paid , and next to the club on the beach is another new place , im sure it must be connected , its called ‘soma’ . it fronts the beach and it’s a lounge come club . its not quite as dear as bardo , im sure it must be connected , but it is similar in style and music while being totally independent from bardo .

I managed to blag it in , but still spent a bit . but it was worth it . its not exactly a shack on the beach this place ! music was like ‘space ibiza’ last nite . take cash , or nearest atm is 2 mins on bike from venue . we went not expecting too much but where blown away. open till 4am when we went . great lights too [and on nye it had acrobats in the sky hanging from huge illuminated blimps/balloons in the sky] …… bardo rocks !

heres some more bardo clips to show the music and flavour of the club :
