goa trip – day 16
our main goal today was to top up the rays and chill by the pool in our last day in palolem . more people arrived at the hotel today pre xmas , and looking at the screen seems as tho about 17 out of the 20 or so rooms are taken at the fern gardenia now , and general south goa area seems busier than 10 days ago when we arrived [but i wouldnt exactly call it busy as such , not by a long way!] . if we came back to this area we would definitely stay here again , or dunhills new places in agonda . heres a new clip of fern gardenia i took on the day we where checking out [you can see previous info in earlier reports].
our last night had to be @ ‘ourem 88’ for meal
had a revisit cos it has been my best food so far and wanted to end our leg in the south with something special so booked it in advance as it is always full [book via facebook] . kinda like jamie oliver or something , just good british cuisine made and served well . great food again for me. the biggest chicken kiev ive ever seen with all the trimmings . really good . also not on his menu was a semi frozen fresh strawberry daquiri , really smooth and made with fresh fruit . he suggested it to me , so ask him for one im sure he will whip one up for you too lol . had a few of them infact mmm ! simply great high end food and casual dining . seats about 20 and has a few banksy type pics on wall and great music like 70’s funk , ‘cafe del mar’ , and ‘all back to mine’ compilation type stuff . remember to book in advance . a ‘must eat’ place if you are in palolem , patnem or agonda which is several minutes away in a cab and would cost a few quid [you can see previous info on ourem in earlier reports] !
returned the bike to the owner as it is our last day in the deep south today . god ive put some miles and been some places on this thing , for a 50cc auto moped its quite ….. err … durable ?!!! if this bike could do a trip report on all the bits i deliberately missed out omg ;0) roads are so quiet down here compared to say baga area . a lot of times you can drive the several minutes to agonda from palolem and only pass a handfull of bikes and a few cars .
after that we went to that bar again , a new place on palolem main road , a bit more lively than all the beach shacks . good to see its still busy and people are returning even tho the free drinks have stopped now . [see earlier report on the dec 2012 opening night here]
finished up packing our stuff and watching the match on cable in our hotel [each of our hotels has had star sports and espn with all the premier league games on sky and espn running live] . checking out and off to candolim tomorrow . will do xmas , then sunset festival for a few days partying, then get mashed for new year !
